Leealas Kooky Cookie Cake!

Have you heard of mother and child cake decorating sessions! If you haven't let me be the first to tell you they exist! My daughter is a fortified snack/cake designing machine. If there are any of my quirks that I've passed on to my children, it would definitely be the cooking gene that my daughter has possessed. Let me tell you, every birthday, Christmas or any holiday she request food toys, not just any food toys but something she can create and then eat. Sorry it grosses me out, hamburgers and fries that don't need to be cooked, or donuts that she decorates and displays for her siblings. I ran across Bake My Day Bakery, which is a cake and cupcake decorating business, they will provide treats for any event and recently they have started Mother and child cake decorating as well as Cake and Wine. Sounds quite fun. I sign us up in July as I hear its hard to get in and we wait til August 21st for our class. My daughter was so excited she looked at the picture on my phone of Kooky Cookie (a shopkin toy) everyday until the day came. Finally we go, we enter a small classroom setting bakery located at 4113 Bardstown road, there are about 12 other mothers and daughters sitting and waiting. Once we are all accounted for, we start out with a large round chocolate cake that we immediately chomp a sizeable bite into to look like Kooky Cookies bite in her head. We eat that piece! My daughter snoops around for others who decide not to eat theirs and begs for their piece, I have to calm her down and remind her that once we are done we will have a cake to eat. Our gracious and patient teacher shows us how to do a dirty crumb icing and gives the moms great tips as she walks around. We then receive our fondant, each 7-10 year old girl pounds and squishes on their fondant trying to get the yellow color to turn, however most cakes are a whitish yellow. But that's ok. Once we have pounded out the fondant we lie it on top of the cake neatly and trim the extras. Now multiple times throughout I ask can I help, each time she says no. :( So I watch. After the cake looks neat we are giving the eyes and we use chocolate fondant to make Kooky Cookies chocolate chips. Needless to say we were both sick and had slight sugar highs leaving, but it was quite fun. The classes last about two hours and there is cute girly music playing, I would love to say its a great opportunity for your child to meet new kids but my daughter only wanted to meet new people to eat their disregarded pieces of cake. :( Our cake didn't look exactly like the advertisement but it was delicious. This particular class cost 45 dollars total, if your kids love to cook or your looking for something fun and interactive to do with your kids I would recommend. :)
